MERO 1GM INJECTION
Meropenem 1 g injection is a prescription carbapenem antibiotic used to treat serious bacterial infections, such as:
- Pneumonia, including hospital-acquired pneumonia
- Complicated urinary or abdominal infections
- Severe skin/soft-tissue infections
- Meningitis and sepsis, when appropriate
Important:
- It treats bacterial infections only, not colds or flu.
- The dose and duration depend on the infection, kidney function, age, and body weight. It is usually given intravenously by a healthcare professional.
- Do not use it without medical supervision or share leftover doses.
- Tell the doctor if you have an allergy to penicillins, cephalosporins, or carbapenems, kidney disease, seizures, or if you take valproic acid/valproate.
Possible side effects: diarrhea, nausea, headache, rash, injection-site reactions, and—in rare cases—severe allergy or seizures. Seek urgent help for breathing difficulty, facial swelling, severe rash, or persistent/bloody diarrhea.
